Objectives

TRALES aims to contribute to the achievement of the EU's industrial and educational policy objectives, such as access for young people and adults to VET programmes tailored to ecological and digital change, by developing a didactic concept for a transnational VET learning factory (product 1) for the professions and activities in mechatronics and toolmaking mechanics and by drawing up a catalogue of requirements for teachers in the transnational learning factory. e.g. the access of young people and adults to vocational training opportunities tailored to the ecological and digital change ((COM (2020) 274 final, p. 12)). On the didactic level, the learning factory is oriented towards vocational skills, knowledge and abilities of the professions that are structuring in the partner regions (see above). The guiding principle is the model of the complete action. With the description of the catalogue of requirements for teachers in the transnational learning factories (product 2), an instrument for their qualification is developed that enables the VET institutions to integrate the concept of the learning factory into the respective educational processes and thus to push the internationalisation of the educational institution.

Activities

The following activities were implemented to achieve the results: - Forwarding of the financial agreement to all partners and conclusion of forwarding agreements between the coordinator and the respective partners. - 10 project meetings, three of them in presence as working and workshop meetings, with all TRALES partners. - Literature research on different approaches to learning factories and on training regulations - Development of didactic concepts - Expert interviews on the basis of a common interview guideline - Development of the catalogue of requirements for teachers in learning factories - Joint editing of the publication of the project results

Impact

Two didactic concepts for vocational training within the framework of the learning factory model are available: on the one hand, a case ball game for training in the occupation of 'mechatronics technician' based on the German training regulations, and on the other hand, a case study for training in the occupation of 'toolmaker' based on the Slovenian training regulations. Furthermore, a catalogue describing the requirements for teachers in transnational learning factories and a learning sequence 'soft skills for trainers' were created. These outputs were provided in the languages of the partners. The cooperation was transparent and based on trust. Personnel changes in the final phase of the project disrupted the work process for a short time, but did not hinder the achievement of the project goals. Based on the shared experience, the partners will continue to work together within the ERASMUS+ programme.
