VIRTUS aimed to achieve several key objectives: Develop and implement specialized vocational training programs tailored for individuals with ASD, incorporating VR technology to make the training more engaging and effective. Facilitate better employment opportunities for individuals with ASD by enhancing their vocational skills and making employers more aware of the capabilities of these individuals. Equip professionals working with individuals with ASD with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively use VR technology and cater to the unique vocational training needs of this group. Increase social inclusion and wellbeing for individuals with ASD through improved access to vocational training and employment opportunities. Showcase the effectiveness of innovative training methods, such as VR, in vocational training for individuals with ASD, setting a precedent for future educational practices. By achieving these objectives, the project sought to bridge the gap between individuals with ASD and the labor market, ensuring that these individuals could access meaningful employment and fully participate in society.
