Objectives

The primary objective of the TwinRevolution was to align VET offerings with the evolving needs of manufacturing and traditional sectors, facilitating a successful twin digital and green transition. The project developed innovative training tools to upskill and reskill VET learners—ranging from students to current workers—by equipping them with essential digital and green skills. TwinRevolution focused on four main objectives: - Launch a Blueprint providing an overview of the twin transition in manufacturing and the necessary green and digital skills to enhance the VET system. - Design a Joint Curriculum for VET to address the needs and priorities of the twin transition in manufacturing SMEs. - Offer pioneering training resources to reskill the European workforce, preparing them as agents of change for a circular and smart industrial ecosystem. - Launch an interactive tool & e-training course for VET learners and providers to guide greener and more digital management in manufacturing. The project aimed to upskill VET learners for the twin transition while equipping VET providers with innovative resources, improving the quality of VET activities, increasing employability, supporting policy-makers, and raising societal awareness.

Activities

The TwinRevolution project brought together partners from academia, research, industry, and VET from Germany, Finland, Spain, and the Czech Republic, ensuring a diverse range of expertise. The consortium implemented several key activities to achieve the project's objectives and deliver the four main project results: the Blueprint for VET in the twin transition, a Joint Curriculum, training materials, and an interactive platform with e-training and a learning experience report. The consortium developed the project blueprint through comprehensive documentary research and a thorough analysis of VET programs and EU initiatives. This was followed by the identification of learning outcomes. We designed learning modules and units tailored to the ECVET framework, which culminated in the establishment of the Joint Curriculum and methodology. These outcomes were validated through over 43 surveys. Additionally, we developed innovative training resources and interactive tools and provided learning experiences for our target groups. A total of 46 trainees participated in the learning experiences and provided feedback through surveys. Although the project was originally planned to be entirely online, we decided to hold in-person sessions with 23 VET students and 11 professionals to add value and impact to the learning activity activity. Additionally, 12 participants took part in the online learning experience, where they also tested the content and tools. All results are documented in various reports available on our website and in the beneficiary dashboard. Project Management and Implementation: This involved effective tracking and managing of the project's progress and finances through coordination and monitoring. A partnership agreement was established, and we ensured compliance with GDPR, environmental sustainability, inclusion, and diversity guidelines. Promotion and Dissemination: A comprehensive 'Share, Promotion, and Use' activity was implemented, which included the execution of a Promotion Plan, management of the project website, ongoing communication with stakeholders, social networking, press releases, and the preparation of promotional materials such as brochures, posters, videos, newsletters, and scientific papers. A dedicated dissemination report is attached to this report. Quality Assurance and Risk Monitoring: We implemented a Quality Assurance & Risk Monitoring (QA & RM) Plan following EQAVET recommendations. This ensured that all activities were monitored and that the project adhered to defined quality standards and indicators. Four Transnational Project Meetings were organized approximately every 6 to 8 months in Karlsruhe, Vaasa, Brno, and Yecla. These meetings brought together consortium members, associated partners, and stakeholders at key milestones to review progress, discuss upcoming tasks, monitor financial matters, and exchange experiences. Multiplier Events: We organized four regional/national physical Multiplier Events and one online European-level event to promote and share the project's results with a wide audience. These events were crucial in demonstrating the use and benefits of the project outputs to various target groups and stakeholders.

Impact

The TwinRevolution project produced several key results aimed at supporting both VET learners and providers. These outputs enhanced digital and green skills within the furniture and textile sectors and updated existing training methodologies. The main project results were: Blueprint on Twin Transition and VET: This document mapped technologies and circular economy strategies for manufacturing industries, analyzed relevant European policies, and outlined the necessary learning outcomes for reskilling the workforce for the twin transition. An executive summary of the document was created and translated into the various languages of the consortium to enhance its dissemination impact. Joint Curriculum (JC): The JC established a structured learning path by organizing essential skills into training modules and units. This served as the basis for the development of training materials and ensured effective knowledge acquisition for students. The curriculum was validated by 43 stakeholders, and the conclusions were documented in the Joint Curriculum Endorsement Report. Training Materials on Twin Transition for the Manufacturing Industry: Accessible online, these materials addressed knowledge gaps for the digital and green transitions. They included four coursebooks in six different languages to ensure a wider audience, more than 10 infographics and 27 video-pills that explained key concepts, helping to train current and future workers as agents of change. E-Learning Platform: The platform featured an interactive tool and e-training course. The tool demonstrated manufacturing processes in the targeted sectors and provided guidance on circular strategies and Industry 4.0 technologies, which were linked to the e-training course for a comprehensive learning experience. Through the platform, once the course is completed, the user can download a Certificate of Completion for the 50-hours course. Learning Experience Report: Based on two learning experiences (C-VET and I-VET), this report offers the feedback of more than 45 users and some recommendations on implementing the developed resources. Additionally, under the TwinRevolution project, a scientific article titled 'development of innovative vocational education resources to drive digital and green transition in the manufacturing industry' was published in EDULEARN 24 conference proceedings. This article highlights the innovative approaches and educational tools developed within the project, contributing to the dissemination and academic validation of the project’s outcomes. All these results were made available as Open Educational Resources (OER), ensuring free and unrestricted access, with an open license allowing reuse and adaptation. Moreover, the project generated promotional materials, a website, videos, newsletters, interim reports, and a comprehensive Quality Assurance and Share & Promotion Plans. Through these outputs, TwinRevolution successfully advanced digital and green skills, helping SMEs adopt Industry 4.0 technologies and circular strategies, while enriching VET offerings for a smart and circular manufacturing industry. Several of the outcomes have been disseminated on platforms such as EPALE, the CE Stakeholder Platform, SALTO-Youth, EU.Citizen.Science, and CircularEconomy.europa to achieve greater impact and reach.
