โ–ถObjectives

Objectives: S.O.1: To promote the youth work principles of youth-led youth work into the space of placemaking. S.O.2: To develop a network of participants, partners, and organisations through their engagement in the meetings, mobilities and events of this project. S.O.3: To conduct desk research, and action research, with our partners, participants, mobilities and events. The learning of which is captured and available to share through our website. S.O.4: To disseminate and network widely, with the project present at Urbanconfest (November 2023, also organised by P1-CISR), which hosted 1,200+ urbanists, activists, researchers, and artists in Berlin (https://urbanconfest.org). P2-CGE hosted a workshop on placemaking and youth work methods at this event. An extra event was organized in Brussels in April 2024, with all partners present in person, where we shared our project journey with 30+ participants in Brussels Nord (the urban regeneration project led by Urban Foxes). S.O.5: To create moments of experimental, experiential learning, for placemakers, urbanists, and youth workers (made possible by our 5 day LAB at Platz*Da in 2023)

โ–ถActivities

// Activities: A1: Kick-Off Meeting (Berlin) A2: Advanced Planning Meeting (Berlin) A3: Training of Trainers - Placemaking with youth LAB (Berlin) A4: Presence at Urban Confest (Berlin) A5: Final Event at Brussels Nord (Brussels, Belgium) // Production of: O.1: Manifesto for Youth Work and Placemaking Principles O.2: Production of Desk Research on academic trends regarding youth work and placemaking O.3: Gathering of case studies, and preparation of Placemaking Lab (A3) in Berlin O.4: Dissemination (Online) // Additionally: - Capacity building of newcomers to Erasmus+ (CiAct) - Cross-pollination of youth work and placemaking approaches, and methods (ongoing) // Alterations to the project structure: Although not promised in the application, we organised an additional Advanced Planning Meeting in Berlin, and an additional final conference in Brussels. We drew on project management funds for this, as there was not project budget for this, but the APV was needed to help connect partners and cocreate the TC. The final conference helped us make the project less Berlin-centric, and to reach a new context with our dissemination and to plan where to take the project next. This was also funded through management funds.
