Objectives

By implementing the project we aimed the participants; 1) To foster the Sustainability Education: Focusing on Hospitality, Tourism, and Travel promoting it in school communities and to correlating it with the first chosen priority in various ways such as mainstreaming innovative and active pedagogies such as interdisciplinary teaching and new collaborative methods. 2) To gain consciousness and awareness on sustainable tourism not just as future employers but also customers or guests that might change their households, relatives, friends or even local communities. 3) To enhance the development of relevant and high-level skills and competences while fostering inclusive education including students with low motivation; to promote the use of ICT as a driver for systemic change to increase the quality and relevance of education at all levels. 4) To improve IT skills by communicating via Internet, creating, designing, collecting , analysing and and presenting the results. 5) To improve their skills in all types of communication in English with foreign peers while working in mixed groups.

Activities

During the project students and teacher successfully accomplished many all the activities included in the application form. They had round table discussions to discuss the alternative touristic practices for a sustainability of tourism and nature. They created digital tourist guides with QR codes to reduce the use of paper and promote a more sustainable touristic experience. They also made city tours by boats, bicycles and trains to draw attention to decreasing carbon footprints. With surveys we gathered data about people's attitutes towards sustainable tourism. Presentations were performed by students which helped them to improve their social and IT skills. Logo creation and cooking activities attracted students' attention most and they all were very enthusiastic during these activities.
