STEP TO TOMORROW. DIGITAL SKILLS FOR DENTAL ASSISTANTS

The SP training center from Estonia applied for Erasmus+ program funding to address the need to enhance digital skills, foster international collaboration and exchange of knowledge, and support the professional development of its students and staff. SP training center recognized the need to enhance the digital skills of its students and staff in order to keep up with the latest trends and innovations in the field of digital dentistry. We identified a gap in our current training methodology that prevented students of sp training center from effectively integrating digital tools like intraoral scanners into their practices. Another reason is an international collaboration and exchange of knowledge with partners from other European countries. This could be seen as an opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of others in the field of dental education. We also recognized the value of Erasmus+ program funding in terms of supporting the professional development of staff.

1) Improving the quality of care: By training dental assistants to use intraoral scanners, the center can improve the quality of care that patients receive. Intraoral scanners allow much more accurate and efficient dental impressions, which can result in better-fitting restorations and fewer patient visits. 2) Enhancing the skills of dental assistants: By designing and providing a training in the use of intraoral scanners, the center can enhance the skills of dental assistants, making them more valuable members of the dental team. This leads to increased job satisfaction and improved patient outcomes. 3) Meeting industry standards: Intraoral scanning is becoming an increasingly common practice in the dental industry. By offering training in this area, the center can ensure that its graduates and stuff are up-to-date with the latest industry standards and practices. 4) Staying competitive: Offering training in the use of intraoral scanners will also help the center stay competitive in the market. Graduates of the program will have a valuable skill set that sets them apart from other job applicants, making them more attractive to potential employers.
