Objectives

We wanted to motivate Vocational students for continuous learning and purchase of knowledge. We wanted to show to the students that there are plenty of opportunities in the IT sector, in technologies, as long they are continuously evolving. We wanted to show them the new fields of technology that are Flourishing and there is a demand for more program developers. We wanted Students, IT developers, and Professors from Universities to act as a team for creating complicated projects, such as the construction of a drone. We wanted to make students more active in the classroom. We wanted to use experiential learning and project development for activating the Vocational Students.

Activities

Activity 1-Project coordination, Financial, Scientific and technical management This activity ensured that the project activities are smoothly conducted. Activity 2 Technical Requirements in Software and Hardware for the Construction of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles This activity proposed the specifications of the materials and software needed for the a drone. Activity 3 Online Lessons from the IT Company This activity taught students who to create mobile applications. Activity 4 Lessons from UOWM During that activity vocational students taught who to construct and flight drones. Activity 5 Educational trip Two educational trips were two place during the project. Activity 6 Dissemination - Construction of the Website and Social media dissemination The main content of this activity is the construction of a webpage and the engagement with social media. Activity 7 Equipment acquisition for UOWM This activity is responsible for obtaining the necessary materials needed for the demonstration of the construction of the drone. Activity 8 Equipment acquisition for Vocational School This activity is responsible for obtaining the necessary materials for the construction of the drone and the Drone Laboratory.

Impact

A Data Management Plan (DMP) and knowledge sharing procedures within the consortium was created. A quality and risk management system ensured the maximum compliance to ethical considerations. An effective and efficient communication strategy between the consortium partners was also established. A Consortium Agreement (CA) that includes cooperation conditions was prepared and agreed among the partners. A report for the fundamental materials and software dependencies was created. Six (6) online courses of Android Studio have been contacted. The students were taught the fundamental of the Android development. Six (6) lessons for constructing a drone were held on the premises of the University of Western Macedonia. Three drones were created during this activity. Two educational trips were taken place through this project. One at a drone construction company at Thessaloniki and one at the Laboratories of the Polytechnic school of the University of Western Macedonia in Kozani. A s construction of the project’s webpage and the engagement with social media was also made. All the necessary materials for the construction of the laboratory of drone construction at the Vocational School were procured.
