The SYnC project was designed to address youth unemployment and promote environmental sustainability through the circular economy. The key objectives were: Educate and Raise Awareness Educate young people, especially those with fewer opportunities, about sustainability and the circular economy. Increase their awareness and understanding to open up entrepreneurial opportunities within this emerging field. Build Capacity of Youth Organizations Enhance the capacity of youth organizations to guide and support young people in exploring their potential for innovation and entrepreneurship within the circular economy. This capacity building is essential for creating an environment where youth can develop and execute sustainable business ideas. Promote Cross-National and Cross-Sectoral Knowledge Transfer Facilitate knowledge sharing across different countries and sectors. Encourage collaboration and the exchange of best practices to drive the widespread adoption of circular economy principles, thereby promoting sustainable development across Europe. The project aligns with the E. Commission’s Circular Economy Action Plan, equipping young people for sustainable entrepreneurship to address environmental challenges and youth unemployment

The SYnC project successfully implemented a comprehensive set of activities over 24 months, structured around four primary project results, each designed to achieve specific objectives related to youth education and entrepreneurship in the circular economy. Project Result 1: Research, Testimonials, and Toolkit Development Activity 1: Research and Analysis of Best Practices Developed national reports reflecting youth entrepreneurship realities, challenges, and best practices through desk research and crowdsourcing. Activity 2: Testimonials from Circular Economy Entrepreneurs Conducted interviews resulting in 13 videos showcasing micro-entrepreneurs’ stories, available on the SYnC YouTube channel with English subtitles. Activity 3: Drafting and Finalizing the Toolkit Compiled research and testimonials into the “Toolkit for Youth and Circular Entrepreneurship,” translated into six languages. Project Result 2: Guidebook Development and Capacity Building Activity 1: Development of the Guidebook Created a Guidebook for youth workers through internal research and co-design workshops, translated into six languages. Activity 2: Raising Awareness and Capacity Building Seminars Organized seminars in four countries, exceeding participation targets with 109 youth workers attending. Activity 3: Feedback and Evaluation Received positive feedback on the Guidebook and seminars, appreciated for their practical approach and relevance. Activity 3: Content Development and Instructional Design Finalized course content and promoted the e-learning platform, achieving the target of 80 participants. E-Learning Course on Circular Economy Entrepreneurship Concrete Output: A structured e-learning course was developed, consisting of four modules covering key topics such as circular economy principles, business ideation, business planning and marketing, and practical application and funding opportunities. Participation: The e-learning course successfully attracted the targeted 80 participants from Greece, Portugal, Romania, and Germany. SYNC Lessons Learned & Youth Recommendations Report Concrete Output: This report documented the insights, lessons learned, and recommendations from the SYnC project.
