DIGITAL MUSICAL LEARNING AT SCHOOL FOR A EUROPE OF VALUES, INLCUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE

Faced with these needs, the three partner entities developed this project with the aim of creating synergies between formal and non-formal education and youth, promoting and adapting the innovative digital learning methodology (generated by music bands in the worst moments of the pandemic) to schools, and involving music bands in the curricular objectives of the music subject. We have managed to adapt and develop these methods of non-formal digital musical learning to the formal environment of schools, generating greater synergies between the schools themselves and the musical bands and using music as the wonderful tool that it is for the formation of values and for the development of educational and transversal competences. This links back to the objectives of the Erasmus+ KA210 Programme: ‒ Expand access to the Programme to small organizations (in this case SMRO and ARMELIS). ‒ Support the inclusion of students with fewer opportunities (from rural areas impacted by the economic and social crisis of the pandemic). ‒ Enhance the capabilities of the entities to work transnationally and between sectors. ‒ Improve teaching in schools and bands (with synergies between formal and non-formal education).

To achieve these objectives, during the development of this project we carried out a complete and ambitious itinerary of well-planned activities capable not only of developing and testing the proposed methodology through virtual (learning activities, rehearsals, streaming concerts, joint digital activities) and on-site actions (street concerts, educational rehearsals, learning activities, working sessions...), but also to carry out the necessary management, sharing, and promotion activities of the project and its results both physically and digitally. Since this is a project within the Small Scale line, we divided all these activities into several large groups according to their content: CONTROL AND MONITORING ACTIVITIES, MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES, three groups for the TRANSNATIONAL MEETINGS (one group for each one), ACTIVITIES FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE METHODOLOGY, and a final group to share the project and its results through the SHARING AND PROMOTION ACTIVITIES.

Thanks to the efforts of the partners and the activities, we have created the foundations of a new, intersectoral and diverse network capable of contributing to enhancing the learning and inclusion of European students, which develops essential work to build the learning of the future thanks to new technologies and joint work plans. This resulted in: ‒ The GUIDE TO EDUCATION THROUGH MUSICAL DIGITALISATION, a 46-page digital document that sets out the methodology of learning processes to combine the work of music bands and the schools themselves through innovative digital processes, helping music bands and schools to incorporate digital methods into their tasks and thus favoring the inclusion and promotion of European values in students. ‒ The ACTIVITY DOSSIER that favors the evaluation and implementation of the guide, our methodology, and lays the foundations for work that favors inclusion and opportunities for students with barriers arising after the pandemic, thanks to digitalized work inside and outside the classroom. All of this along with very key learning and structural outcomes for teachers, trainers, students and users.
