โ–ถSummary

The COVID19 pandemic brought learning to an abrupt halt around the world, creating the most severe disruption to education in history. At the height of the crisis, according to UNESCO data, more than 1.6 billion students in over 190 countries dropped out of school. More than 100 million teachers and school staff were affected by the sudden closure of educational institutions. Confinement brought to light the term and the issue of "school dropout". During the confinement, the dropout rate was as high as 50% in some schools. The project aimed to rely on associative structures located in priority neighbourhoods, which had developed local socio-professional integration mechanisms, often innovative. However, often isolated, undervalued, with few resources, and faced with complex issues related to the profile of young drop-outs, they were only able to serve a small number of young people. These actors expressed a need for support and accompaniment, which is why they formed this strategic alliance.

โ–ถObjectives

The project aimed to rely on unifying structures that would implement and often innovate mechanisms of socio-professional integration at the local level. But often isolated, undervalued, with few resources, these actors expressed their need for support and accompaniment, which is why they established this strategic alliance.

โ–ถActivities

We wanted to mobilise youth workers and young people around capacity building processes to create inclusion initiatives that were recognised and accepted by all stakeholders. In this project we organised educational modules and were in direct contact with young people to empower them. We also created links with other local partner institutions.

โ–ถImpact

It sought to strengthen the skills of youth workers who supported the integration process of young people. Trained people were available to prevent young people from dropping out of school, providing them with expectation tools and permanent means of support to improve the employability of young people, women and families in the framework of the project.
