▶Objectives
With these needs in mind, we established several objectives and specified that the young members themselves would lead the change of our musical entities, since due to several consultations carried out in 2020 and 2021 we realized that our needs and those of our young members were practically the same, so we decided to address them together in a project that would improve their skills and abilities, at the same as it improved and strengthened our associations, working towards the following 5 goals: ‒ Improving our digitalization both in the management of entities and in musical training. ‒ Being more inclusive, open to diversity, and promoting equal opportunities. ‒ Being more egalitarian by boosting our gender policies. ‒ Being more sustainable, implementing environmentally friendly policies. ‒ Being more active and participatory in the development of our communities. These objectives are also in line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme (social inclusion of youth, improvement of work processes in the field of youth, and promoting the digitalization of our entities and youth), as well as those of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.
▶Activities
Throughout the 24 months of the project we managed to achieve all the proposed objectives thanks to developing: *MANAGEMENT ACTIVITIES: we have carried out the selection of the participants, training actions, 10 virtual meetings, actions for the participation in equity, and a large study on the situation of youth. *TRANSNATIONAL MEETINGS: we held 3 Transnational Meetings, one in Valencia, one in Staffolo, and one in Óbidos. *NATIONAL ACTIVITIES WITH A EUROPEAN VISION: we carried out 4 virtual youth mobilities (Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Belgium) lasting 3 to 4 days during which we carried out 12 workshops (3 per entity) aimed at inclusion, gender equality, and digitalization of our entities, plus 8 community development activities and the actions to develop the results. *DISSEMINATION EVENTS: VIRTUAL AND IN-Person CONCERTS where 3 concerts prepared through virtual rehearsals were created (between young musicians from the country and foreign directors), 5 national concerts, a great competition for the promotion of young women in music, creation of digital models, 50 digital dissemination actions and a dissemination event at the UEMyD Music and Dance Teaching Conference, Musikene.
▶Impact
After carrying out the project activities we produced 3 general types of results: 1. Learning results, which were essential for the young participants, since they boosted their self-confidence, fought against the depression and pessimism they carried since the pandemic, and reinforced their skills to overcome their barriers. 2. Structural results that have enabled our organizations to adapt to the post-COVID-19 reality by rejuvenating us, aiming us towards more effective social action in our communities, internationalizing us, and enhancing our digitalization. 3. Tangible high-quality results: - The “YOUTH GUIDE OF GOOD PRACTICES IN MUSICAL ASSOCIATIONS”, a 75-page digital document available for its free download in both Spanish and English. This guide includes in its index the 5 challenges that musical entities face when adapting to the new reality. - The ACTIVITY DOSSIER, which lists the main project actions to enable the replication of the project and access to the Erasmus+ Programme for new entities. - The project’s website.
