Objectives

General objective: Promote supportive, fair and inclusive societies committed to the 2030 Agenda by empowering youth in Europe. Specific objective: Promote a youth committed to the 2030 Agenda and social transformation by designing and implementing creative solidarity initiatives through artistic and audiovisual methodologies.Furthermore, empowering youth’s participation in society, through training and awareness raising through the development of artistic tools and innovative pedagogical tools. These objectives are in line with the priorities chosen to promote a more active and critical citizenship, with a capacity for initiative, seeking the inclusion of all people and fighting against inequalities. In the local contexts this translates to the active involvement of young participants from vulnerable backgrounds, with little or no previous knowledge about the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, gaining knowledge and becoming empowered, informed and interested during the project. As well as training and bringing closer the youth workers to the needs and interests of young people.

Activities

The activities through which this project has been implemented are the following: (R 1. Strengthening the educators’ capacities) -Project coordination and follow-up beginning with the Kick Of Meeting, and ending with a final online project evaluation meeting (A1.1, A1.2, A1.5) -Creation and design of the educational materials for the project (A1.3), through a creative training lab held between the partners (A1.4), in order to subsequently develop and design the Project Guide and Itinerary (A2.1) (R 2. Youth become actively involved) - Implementation of the Itinerary with European youth through which they will develop their artistic transformative initiatives (A2.2) and follow-up and evaluation of the implementation process (A2.3). (R 3. Disseminating youth’s narratives about the SDGs) -Elaboration and dynamization of exhibitions with the artistic photographic initiatives created in each country (A3.3) and Coordination and development of a Final Dissemination Event in both countries (A3.4) - Development of a communication strategy, dissemination of the project through social media and in the participating entities’ websites, and follow up and evaluation of the communication campaign (A3.1, A3.2, A3.5)

Impact

This project expect to achieve three main results: (R1) youth educators receive training and improve their skills for educational intervention for social change; furthermore, through this process they will develop innovative pedagogical tools and an itinerary guide through which the project and its goals can be replicated by other educators and youth workers. (R2) youth from vulnerable contexts enhance their capacities for social change through photojournalism, empowering them to contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda; in the process they will create their own photographic artworks to express their own views and initiatives, and they will put together a collective exhibition. (R3) the project and the initiatives created by young people will have a wide dissemination in society, improving its involvement in the SDGs; through a dissemination campaign of the participating youth’s artistic initiatives, the general public and specifically the local communities of participants will develop their social awareness and knowledge about European strategies and the 2030 Agenda.
