Objectives

The aim of this project was to achieve that Jami Kurejoki and Räpinä Aianduskol collaborate by developing their environmental teaching skills together. Increasing cooperation between the partner schools and thus increasing the coverage of environmental issues from a global perspective is the main objective of the project, since environmental issues / problems know no borders and the contribution of neighboring countries to the same subject area increases the impact of the final result.

Activities

During the project, both educational institutions visited each other, in connection with which workshops were organized. Both educational institutions presented educational materials, study plans, teaching methods and teaching environments that will develop and expand teaching skills on both sides in the future. As the visits took place as joint trips and programmes of the project partners, they got to know each other better and this significantly increased the success and will of the cooperation in the future. During the project, communication between project staff was improved and several common development topics were identified. The activities of the project were expanded by involving staff and students of educational institutions in the workshops not only through live participation, but also remotely, which allowed more people to participate.

Impact

As a concrete result of the project, the following were achieved: 1. Getting to know other teachers who teach environmental management. 2. Common objectives for the development of environmental care teaching skills listed for future virtual education 3. Third-party proposal for a follow-up project. To achieve tangible results, visits, joint program time, workshops, Teams meetings, memos were used. The project also resulted in a picture book, piloting a joint virtual lesson from the perspective of sustainable development, which involved a large group of students and a jointly refined new follow-up project idea and related funding model solutions.
