▶Objectives
The project has contributed to strengthening technical knowledge on sustainable co-housing models to implement European policies at the local level. In particular, the partnership, through the implementation of activities, has shared innovative and effective alternatives for accessing co-housing solutions, promoted active citizenship, encouraged young people to engage in dialogue with local institutions, and deliberated on co-housing strategies among partners. The project has proposed a new vision of more inclusive and sustainable contemporary living, highlighting the role of social, public, and cooperative housing.
▶Activities
The following activities have been carried out: - Feasibility study: A national analysis on the housing emergency among young people was conducted, highlighting the recognized needs at the European level and in the involved nations. The study consists of the following sections: demographic analysis, housing context analysis (housing types, housing quality, housing situation of young people). - Promotional campaign: A campaign was launched to promote the mini-panels, workshops, and dissemination of the results. - Implementation of 3 mini-panels: The first panel took place in Rome, focusing on sharing best practices related to co-housing in accordance with European directives and considering environmental sustainability. The second panel was held in Athens, analyzing co-housing as a method to reduce inequalities and exploring the implementation of cooperative co-housing. The third panel took place in Valladolid, discussing concrete examples of existing co-housing initiatives. - Implementation of 2 national workshops: Workshops were conducted in Valladolid and Athens to discuss housing accessibility issues, local challenges, and potentials.
▶Impact
The achieved results at the end of the initiative were: - Increased awareness of co-housing practices. - Enhanced dialogue among young people, professionals, and institutions. - 24 professionals trained in mini-panel 1 and 3. - 15 youths trained in mini-panel 2. - 20 citizens involved in the workshops. - 2 local associations engaged in the workshops. - 2 recommendations/commitment documents for the adoption of co-housing regulations in Valladolid and Athens.
