By implementing this project, we aimed to significantly enhance awareness and education surrounding environmental sustainability, particularly through understanding and managing carbon footprints. The project sought to foster behavioral changes among participants by encouraging sustainable living practices. This was to be achieved by using innovative digital tools, such as a Minecraft carbon-free world and a carbon footprint tracking application, which also served to improve digital literacy. Additionally, the project was designed to promote collaborative learning and engagement among adult staff and participants from various educational backgrounds. Ultimately, our goals aligned with broader global climate initiatives, such as the Paris Agreement and the European Green Deal, aiming to contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The overall intent was to not only educate but also empower participants to make informed choices that support a sustainable, low-carbon future.
