▶Objectives
At the time of the application, as mentioned, we were most concerned with establishing close ties between the two destinations and the local tourism communities. For our own vocational school, it was important to connect it even more closely to local business life than what was normal in Norway. This is how we saw how Bornholm was characterized by an almost complete integration between, among other things, producers of local food and drink, catering and accommodation companies, schools, museums, festivals and other events. When we presented the project to local businesses in Hallingdal, Hol municipality and Hallingdal Regional Council, we found that they supported the project and got actively involved. We experienced the same thing with similar actors in Bornholm. In such a perspective, we could have involved 8-10 active partners in the application and implementation. The fact that a formal partner was formally registered on Bornholm is due to ignorance/inexperience on our part. In summary, our aim was to establish close relations between two regions with clear commonalities. That was also achieved.
▶Activities
When establishing Fagskolen Viken, study site Geilo (FVSG), we searched for relevant partners who could contribute on several levels such as: - mobility for students and staff - regional cooperation where local tourism and associated industries could learn from each other and develop new ventures -professional strengthening of our own teaching -a consistent focus on sustainability We found that the environment on Bornholm met our needs, and we started exploring/developing such a collaboration. This project with funding gave us the opportunity to take this a long step further.
