LEARNING FROM THE PAST, DESIGNING OUR FUTURE

Understanding our cultural heritage gives us a sense of our identity and promotes better cooperation in community. It plays an essential role in our society by linking the past, the present and the future generation. In an era of globalization, cultural heritage helps us to remember our cultural diversity and develop mutual respect and renewed dialogue amongst different cultures. Digital technologies offer solutions to power cultural heritage efforts through the 21st century. The digitisation of cultural heritage is important for the protection, conservation, restoration, research, dissemination and promotion of tangible and intangible cultural heritage.Participating organizations of this project came together in an e-Twinning project and decided to spread it with Erasmus to wide audience in society. All participants in this project developed their foreign language knowledge, culture and digital competences and feel truly part of the EU through international cooperation. Teachers supported the work of students and shared the methods they have applied in their classrooms.Students had an excellent opportunity to engage in cross-curricular work and were encouraged to learn language by interacting with international teams.

With this project we planned: -To teach our students to understand the interest and fascination with the natural and cultural heritage of people and how this heritage shapes their identity and values. - Emphasizing the importance of the environment as a fundamental element in our lives, seeking its knowledge, value and appreciation, being aware of the risks that threaten its integrity and being aware of its importance not only as an economic but also as a resource. It also seeks sustainable use of important resources, all social, cultural and spiritual ones. - Allowing an open, flexible and coordinated holistic and multidisciplinary approach to educational activities, using local natural and cultural resources as a starting point. Putting into practice new methodological tools that make it possible to integrate learning and teaching 21st century competencies into more interesting and fun activity. - Exploring the potential for greater exposure to natural and cultural heritage on our students' self-esteem and social and emotional intelligence, thereby reducing conflict, promoting coexistence and harmony, and helping to reduce school failure. - Promote creativity and entrepreneurship necessary for the appreciation of the environment

Concrete outputs: -creating eTwinning project -short clips, collages of photos with the desciption of activities, - the first prize in Selfie+ contest -online calendar with celebrations from both partner countries and individual birthdays -padlets with descriptions of artists from each country : music, films -creative work of art - painting bags with folk decoration and applying traditional Turkish art EBRU techniques on paper -ebook with students' comics about their dream school -games and quizzes about our culture -videos with Talking Monuments -developing foreign language knowledge, -developing cultural and digital competence ( learning and using new web2tools such as canva, padlet, zoom, linoit, postermywall, twinboard, messenger, Whatsapp, zoom, quizziz, kahoot etc..) -feel truly part of the EU through international cooperation. -engagement in cross-curricular work. -improvement of written and spoken English skills(higher grades -learning more languages by interacting with international students, which may also influence and motivate other students in school -ebook with students' comics about their dream school -international integration and inclusion -learning about the natural heritage value,how to take care of it
