DIGITAL APPLICATION CHANGE

We are aware of the dangers that are waiting for us and for our students as a result of the growing digitalization in the word. Teachers , students and families do not have sufficient knowledge about the dangers and the new technological diseases that arise as a result of excessive and uncontrolled use of technology tools and the internet. We aim to inform everyone so that use of technology becomes some tool to make our lives easier rahter than to put it in danger. Our students all aged beetween 14-18; all using full time internet and technology; so we are all discovering new diseases about this topics everyday. We are teachers and this is why our aims must be making education safe and useful for our students lives in all the areas. The safe use of technology and digital world is something that first we have to learn and then to teach to our students and to their family also. This is why Healthy steps to digitalization has to be the crucial thing that we have discover with all its aspects like digital needs, digital safety and digital satisfaction. We are aware that one of our duties is to raise the awareness of the education world about the misuses and the ilnesses in our new technologic and digitalized world.

This project firstly aims to guide safely our students in the digital age of the 21st century so that they can increase their ICT skills, and learn the ways of using internet and technology tools more consciously and in safe manners. We also want to stop or at least decrease their addiction through this dangerous world by teaching them right ways to use new technologies and digital world. We desire to protect them against the many psychological and physical disorders that they will face as a result of the new technological diseases. We will provide our students with the ability to reach the accurate information, think critically, and interpret and perceive the media correctly. We will ensure them deep knowledge in cyberbullying and the protection of personal data on the Internet so that they can use technology tools and the Internet safely.

The activities that we run during this project firstly aimed to inform our audience about the misuse of technology and about the dangers that can be encountered. Then our activities presented ICT tools that teachers and students can use, in order to share ways to have effective and useful time spent in all the digital world. “Digital Transformation, Education, Youth and Digital Europe- EU 2030 Compass” seminar and the forum "The Effects of the Digital Age on the Physical and Mental Health of Young People"were the first steps of our activities. Then we continued with learning more details about physical diseases caused by use of technological devices, symptoms, causes, struggle and treatment methods of the diseases. A seminar ‘Student Coaching and Approach and communication techniques to our young people with the New technological physical and mental diseases” was done in order to have deeper informations about the illneses and learn the ways to communicate with them. Again a seminar ‘Technology and Internet with Pros and Cons’ was held, and a brainstormings about Solutions for Combating to the New Technological diseases were held with the participants.

The aim of our project was firstly to recognize and learn about the diseases that can be encountered because misuse of technology. We prepared a digital and a handbook on technological physical and mental diseases, symptoms, causes, struggle and treatment methods in our mother language and in English, and wall papers were installed at our schools in order to clarify the topic for our students. The presentations and all the other digital materials also were shared with our colleagues and our students. We create a media literacy club in our school to motivate our students on how to understand correctly technology and technology tools. The club activities are running still September 2023. We make the connection of this project with the e-twinning project that our school is still running still September 2023. Our e-twinning project named “Language Bridge” is a project about languages and their use in the international area. Of course, the use of internet and ICT skills is the most important point of this project also. We combine the projects and the students and teachers participating to both are still sharing their knowledge, activities, thoughts during the project meetings that we run every week in our school.
