Summary

We applied for the project because we think that participating in Erasmus projects is very valuable and our schools can increase the quality of educiation. That is why we looked for an opportunity to develop international cooperation in which we could share the good practice for the teachers and create a space for international projects in which our students will participate and cooperate with each other. We thought it would enrich their experience, give a chance to develop their communicating skills in English language and cooperative skills in a diversed group of students showing the importance of effective teamwork. All the schools participating in this project noticed the need of creating a larger number of situations where the students must use English language (international exchange), inclusion of the students with fewer opportunities in the field of educiation but also social and economical. All the partners agreed that the solution to our problems is a project where the teaching staff and the students from different countries will be able to cooperate. The studentswith fewer opportunities will receive educational and emotional support in each phase of the project.

Objectives

Our objectives were: 1) integrating non-disabled students and students with fewer opportunities and disabilities 2) develop communicating skills in English, 3) increasing foreign languages teaching skills of educational staff (including the use of ICT) through exchange of good practises, 4) stimulating students, including those with fewer opportunities and disabilities, to communicate and use ICT in group work with a diverse group of peers 5) broadening cultural awareness of the students by extra classes, trips abroad and international student exchange.

Activities

Exchange of good practices between teachers online and in the workshops. A seminar for teachers in Turkey about using ICT tools in teaching English. Job shadowing. Workshops about the students with fewer opportunities and learning difficulties. Activities for students including the ones with fewer opportunities and disabilities, using ICT tools and giving the opportunity to get to know cultural and natural heritage of the participating countries.

Impact

The implementation of our project had a positive impact on the functioning of the school in the European dimension, contribute to the improvement of the knowledge and skills of the teachers in partner schools, which translated into the success of the students and thus enhanced their communicative competence in the use of English which resulted in the school leaving Exams and the results of Cambridge exams. Niepubliczna Szkoła Podstawowa "Piątka has changed its name into Niepubliczna Szkoła Podstawowa "Piątka z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi and became a school with Bilingual Classes. That means that there are element of English language also in other subjects like: Physics, Art, P.E. and Biology. There are also subjects like Science and The Culture of English speaking Countries. The school also hired a native speaker who has English Conversations in each level of education. We observe a great development of the school in this area. It have caused openess to otherness and diversity as well as cooperation with foreign partners. It have activated students with fewer opportunities and disabilities.
