โ–ถObjectives

We aimed to achieve several key objectives by implementing this project. Our primary goal was to modernize early childhood education by equipping teachers with the digital and pedagogical skills needed to address the challenges of a rapidly evolving educational landscape. We aimed to strengthen the professional profiles of early education teachers, empowering them to implement innovative STEAM teaching methods and bridge the disparities in digital education across EU. We sought to address gaps in ECEC teacher motivation, digital literacy, and the ability to engage students through updated pedagogical approaches. Additionally, we focused on promoting inclusion, gender balance, and parental involvement in the educational process. By doing so, we aimed to ensure equitable access to high-quality early education and to support the development of foundational skills in children for their future education and career prospects. To achieve this, we provided ECEC teachers with practical tools and resources (i.e. platform, scenarios for lessons, digital badge system). Furthermore, we emphasized the promotion of European values, including respect, diversity, equality, solidarity, and inclusion, ensuring these were embedded in project results

โ–ถActivities

As partners, we applied for this project to address critical gaps in early childhood STEAM education and foster a future-oriented and inclusive learning environment. We recognized the lack of focus on STEAM education for young children, which is essential for preparing them for careers in digital and scientific fields. Additionally, we aimed to tackle the digital skills gap, highlighted by the 2020 DESI analysis, which showed that 57% of enterprises struggled to recruit ICT specialists. Our efforts centered on empowering early childhood education teachers by equipping them with digital and pedagogical skills to modernize teaching, reduce disparities among EU member states, and bridge the digital divide. We prioritized promoting gender balance, inclusion, equity, and parental engagement in the educational process. As the project progressed, we developed practical tools and resources to enhance early childhood education and care (ECEC) teachers' and parents' and caregivers' training in coding and robotics. We ensured the sustainability and dissemination of our results to create a lasting impact on STEAM education for early learners across all partner countries.

โ–ถImpact

The project delivered several concrete outputs and impactful results, organized into three main areas around each PR: PR1 Results: We produced a comprehensive handbook that outlined main directions and efficient methods for promoting STEAM skills, including robotics and coding. This handbook provides foundational knowledge to design targeted professional development programs for early childhood education teachers, addressing their specific needs and gaps. PR2 Results: We enhanced the existing curricula by introducing new resources and materials tailored to STEAM education. Our efforts will empower ECC community to develop investigative and innovative skills, fostering a foundation for life-long learning in an engaging and exploratory environment. PR3 Results: We created an inclusive digital platform that significantly improve teaching and learning methods by supporting professional development and collaboration among ECEC teachers and stakeholders. By providing free access to all resources and tools, we attract ECEC teachers, but also students, parents and other relevant stakeholders (i.e. policy / decision-makers, branch associations, NGOs) and ensure the projectโ€™s long-term sustainability and possibly broadest applicability. These outputs collectively contributed to modernizing ECEC practices, bridging gaps in digital competencies, and also promoting European values of inclusion, diversity, and equity.
