Green Youth - Educational materials for environmental

Background “Green Youth” is a project focusing on providing necessary skills and online tools to youth (14 - 18) to equip them with the competencies to empower them to be more environmentally aware. Youth should be, in fact, supported to become more conscious citizens, by giving them the information to be active in the development of future green societies. In this sense, the project is fully in line with the EU’s Green Deal and, specifically, to actively contribute to “turning climate and environmental challenges into opportunities, and making the transition just and inclusive for all” (https://ec.europa.eu/info/strategy/priorities-2019-2024/european-green-deal_en). Moreover, the project will also respond to the need for more accessible and eco-friendly education, by providing tools and methodologies to youth workers to better engage young people in matters related to environmental sustainability and challenges. “Green Youth” will cover a wide range of environmental topics and initiatives that are tangible and practically oriented. The use of non-formal education methodology will support the creation of modern, accessible, and engaging materials to guide both youth and youth workers on their road to be more eco-friendly and environmentally conscious. Objectives One of the main objectives of this project is to create tools for a new, modern and eco-friendly education, by giving useful tools to youth workers to engage young people in topics related to environmental challenges. Through the development of the OER and the mobile app, along with the other project results and activities, the project wants to achieve the following objectives: - Creating an appropriate pedagogical framework based on blended education, in the scope of environmental sustainability; - Providing youth workers with tools for a greater engagement of young people in the scope of sustainability; - Creating ad-hoc and accessible contents related to ecology, environment, and sustainability; - Providing concrete tools to be active citizens, by changing habits for future greener communities; - Creating results that are transferable, versatile, and adaptable; - Raising awareness on the main topics related to sustainability and the Green Deal, therefore supporting the EU policies and strategies by empowering youth workers and young people to be fully engaged in it; - Increasing knowledge amongst target groups and beneficiaries about environmental challenges and possible solutions and actions, e.g. 4R’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rethink; -Making the
