Summary

Preschool period is the one in which the child achieves the fastest progress in terms of cognitive, physical, language, emotional and social aspects. Since it is one of the critical periods in human life, the education to be given to children at thisage also leaves permanent traces.The role of the teacher is great in gaining scientific process skills to preschool children and developing positive attitudes towards children. The Little Einsteins Project aims to implement innovative teaching/learning methods and create a learner-centered learning environment, unlike the memorization approach that traditional teaching methods impose on students. This project will develop students' 21st century skills, which are learning skills, literacy skills and life skills, which will contribute to teaching children the tools to build knowledge on their own. Also this project will enable students to get a good start in learning and contribute to Critical thinking and problem solving, creativity and innovation skills, literacy skills, communication technologies (ICT). This project will develop teachers' professional skills and their ability to apply innovative teaching methods in their classrooms.

Objectives

We aim our students with their families to; -- develop methodological materials on science teaching in preschool period based on various national competencies. - develop students' research, examination and observation skills. To teach scientific thinking to students. - contibute the preschool science curriculum using innovative teaching methods. - improve the quality of education in participating institutions and European countries. - develop teachers' foreign language skills, information and communication technologies skills. - create a better awareness of the education system in Europe, to strengthen the role of the preschool profession. - improve their physical, mental, emotional and social skills, to accelerate their socialization process - develop problem solving/critical thinking skills and creativity using scientific methods, - develop scientific thinking skills and acquire knowledge about science concepts, - expand lifelong learning skills with learning-by-doing environments - have awareness about science events around them -contribute to the development of positive attitudes towards protecting the environment and nature. - be awared of different cultures and expand the EU education network

Activities

Activities were carried out in 4 main areas at LTTs within the scope of the project.These areas are Nature, Robotic Coding, Art and STEM.Each school organized training and workshops on an activity on a field.Good practices were shared in these activities.Dissemination activities will be carried out to increase the impact of the project.The booklet of "Science activities guide in kindergartens", the final product of the project activities, will be an important resource for pre-schools. In the activity “Nature and child”, teachers enabled students to gain experience in the natural environment and gain natural awareness, adaptability to flexibility, initiative and self-direction, productivity skills. ''Artist child'' children gained artistic skills, cooperation and creativity skills through creative art practices. "Robotic coding and STEM" activities provided children with ICT literacy, innovation, critical thinking and problem solving skills.At the end of these activities, a booklet that will be the output of the project will be created and this booklet will be a unique resource that can be used in all kindergartens. In addition, partners will create a synergy with their workshops and initiatives to strengthen their work

Impact

Little Einsteins Project aims to implement innovative teaching/learning methods and create a learner-centered learning environment, developing 21st century skills, which are students' learning skills, literacy skills and life skills, and teaching children the tools to construct knowledge on their own.The Little Einsteins Project will create a child-centered learning environment by applying innovative teaching/learning methods, as opposed to the memorization approach that traditional teaching methods impose on students.
