Summary

With the partners we discussed about the real need to incorporate entrepreneurship education in primary schools. Entrepreneurs today help solve problems of unemployment, economic stagnation, and many other socio-economic problems. But for a country to have more entrepreneurs and more available jobs it is necessary that those people receive an adequate education. And it is much easier to do it early so that knowledge can be built on. We need to develop a set of skills and the right mindset. And this cannot be achieved in a hurry, it needs to be worked on methodically from a young age. So, as primary schools we decided that perfect time to start that educational cycle is the age that we want to work with; so that their creativity and optimism can be used to maximize the effects. The topic of entrepreneurship education into primary schools is still being ignored. The main reason for that is the fact that the current educational system is outdated and relies on traditional teaching methods. Yet the world has changed. It needs people who will think outside the box, have creativity and potential. And after many questionnaires we had with the students, we realized that teaching entrepreneurship is the need for our schools.

Objectives

We wanted the students to: - Understand the concept & the various types of entrepreneurship - Develop the competences of young entrepreneurs, or, in other words, their personal skills, knowledge about how to set up and manage an enterprise and entrepreneurial attitudes - Help the students to be capable of recognizing opportunities that others do not, to become capable of bringing together and managing resources, and to act in risk situations in which others might hesitate - Encourage students to acquire personal qualities that contribute towards the development of an enterprising attitude, which will prove to be useful in their daily lives. - Foster the development of personal qualities, such as creativity, and the spirit of enterprise and independence, problem solving and identification capability. - Foster innovation, adaptability, leadership skills, collaboration, communication and critical thinking - Construct new knowledge from multiple perspectives - Include students with fewer opportunities - Support active citizenship and ethics in lifelong learning

Activities

Activities from the first mobility in Italy: All kinds of families- activities related to topic of the project, key concepts and introduction of basic information to the program, businesses all around the neighborhood, a new business - students suggested names for new businesses. Activities from the second mobility in Romania: Regions- there were discussions about activities, types of local businesses, there were identified different opportunities to develop businesses and also different problems/obstacles that might arise in a business and the solutions to the problems. There were discussions about how to save money and students made a money box. There was a practical activity in which all the students were involved- a cookies fairy. Activities from the third mobility in Turkey: Students were involved in activities in which they had to identify business opportunities and ideas and their leaders and also the necessary materials to create finished products. There were created materials/ finished products which were sold during the fairy that was organized for all the students, teachers and the community. There was a poster which was filled in as a simple business plan.

Impact

We created a European corner in all the partner schools with the flags and logos of the partners on the ground floor and a corner dedicated to the project where there were uploaded different pictures that show different moments from the mobilities. in the buildings of the partner schools that will stay for two years. We ensured that the concept of Entrepreneurship was taught as an elective course by making changes in the annual and daily plans, applied methods and techniques. We prepared booklets and printed t-shirts with the logo of the project. All partner schools shared the details of the project, the materials prepared, the trainings applied on the social media pages of the institutions they have been using for a long time, and ensured international dissemination. Students acquired knowledge related to the topic of Entrepreneurship. There were created activity plans/ business plans on different entrepreneurial areas. Photographs and video recordings were taken during the project, and these will be used in the activities and seminars that will be applied after the project. There were newspaper articles in the local media about the topic and development of the project.
