Summary

With this topic, we wanted to develop the meaning of one’s own identity. It is important to know one’s own cultural heritage, and if you can still compare it, it is a benefit. We wanted our participants to acquire especially knowledge related to ICT technology. We wanted to find organizations that have experience with different uses of IT. The theme of the project was also attractive to our selected partners, as we emphasized the connection with the values of their schools. In all partner schools, there is a strong cooperation with the local environment. Many students are involved in the work of organizations, where they try to preserve the national cultural tradition and show its importance to young people. We stressed the importance of other European countries also trying to preserve their cultural heritage in a modern, attractive and understandable way for young people. They emphasized promoting educational values, developing students’ skills, acquiring new skills, enabling an interactive learning process, gaining practical experience, encouraging teamwork and building friendships, as well as awareness of the importance of preserving cultural heritage, understanding the need for its reinterpretation and integration.

Objectives

The main objective of the project was to develop awareness of the importance of the knowledge of our ancestors (preservation of local cultural heritage) and transfer it to a stimulating, modern form and digital environment. We set ourselves: - production of the logo of our project; - creating an interactive polygon around schools, emphasising the learning of cooperation between partners and raising awareness of the importance of a common European idea of integration, - creation of a common e-book with descriptions of 3 local rites/events from the past, - search for common solutions in the field of digitalization of our products (better recognition and motivation for work) and sustainable product implementation (search for sustainable materials for the polygon, search for sustainable mobility implementation). -exchanges of pupils and teachers in all partner countries, - implementation of workshops with ICT technology, also for school professionals and transfer of new knowledge to project activities and lessons at schools, - informing parents, local communities and associations about activities and results.

Activities

During the exchanges, work was carried out according to a predetermined programme. After the presentation of the work of the schools and participants, selected elements of cultural heritage were highlighted. At the 1st meeting in Slovenia we chose the logo of the project and the implementation of the ICT workshop (e-Twinning, animation). They got to know the local cuisine and customs and introduced themselves to the local community. In Serbia, elements of selected cultural heritage were presented, a plan for an interactive polygon was prepared, workshops with ICT (Filmora, Kahoot) were conducted and experiential work with local masters were conducted. In Portugal, the main themes were the presentation of an interactive training ground, learning about ICT, and direct experience with local masters. In Latvia, we planned the content for the e-book, set the final timeline, and created a common calendar for 2024.
