"Perceive via TOUCH!"

In our school, we provide education to students with Medium-Severe Mental Disabilities and Autism. We do our best to ensure that our students are individuals who are aware of their potential and can lead their lives fully independently. Within the scope of the decisions taken at the R&D meeting we hold monthly to improve our core competencies; We researched Sensory Integration studies, which are considered extremely important in our country, as well as all over the world. We realized the project by realizing that the behaviors described as problems of special needs students who have problems in sensory processes are actually caused by difficulties in sensory processes. As a result of the activities, we saw that Sensory Integration Applications were sufficient to meet the expectations of the parents. As a result of scanning the literature, parent interviews and formal tests; We found that sensory integration activities positively affected students' academic and behavioral development. We have seen that it affects students' eye contact, attention span, increase in the number of words they use, and a decrease in problem behavior, social phobias. They meet with the school nurse to monitor their physical development, such as weight etc

-Contributing to the physical, social and behavioral development of children through the use of Sensory Integration Activities, -To encourage the use of Sensory Integration Activities by Special Education Teachers, to develop their talents, to present sample practices and to serve as a resource for listening to the activities, -To guide parents by increasing their awareness of Sensory Integration Activities and to ensure the continuity of exiled people at home, -We wanted to achieve widespread use of Sensory Integration Activities in Special Education Classes and Schools. For the functional maintenance of the Sensory Integration Units established by the ministry in schools, mental and physical health and well-being; -Progress in grammar and pronunciation with the progress in sensory growth -Increase in engine protection (such as balance, ball throwing and catching) -Information about sensory sensitivities -Increasing attention spans - Increased social harmony and acceptance with a decrease in problem behaviors -With this project, we provided services for increased eye temperature and sensitivity to touch.

1. Activity; Vestibular System (Balance) Activities were held in Antalya, hosted by Ramazan Hatice Savaş Special Education and Training School. Activities include sensory integration, dark room units, gym and school garden; accompanied by a specialist occupational therapist, physiotherapist, SEN teachers and students; -Balance Board, Indoor Swing Activities Balance strengthening activities were carried out. 2. Activity; Tactile System (Tactile) Activities -Brushing and massage exercises, dry sensory games, etc. Tactile awareness activities and exercises were carried out practically by experts in schools and institutions within the Polish Tarczyn Education Directorate. 3. Activity; Proprioception System (Body Awareness) Activities were held in institutions within Muratpaşa District. Activities were carried out according to the performance of the students, taking into account their developmental characteristics, competencies. The explanations and practices made by the occupational therapist were recorded on video and uploaded to the web page, YouTube channel and blog. At the meeting held by the physiotherapist, ideas were shared with doctors, nurses, SEN teachers. A dissemination workshop was held with the participation of experts.

Teacher-parent surveys, evaluation scales, pretest-posttest were conducted.Activities carried out in the field of Vestibular,Tactile and Proprioception System; Ergotherapist, physiotherapist practices were recorded on video, uploaded to the webpage,YouTube channel, blog.After the mobility, each institution shared posts on their own websites,social media accounts in digital dissemination. Mobility videos were made as e-brochures,e-exhibitions,ebooks and published on the website.An e-twinning project on sensory integration was carried out.A SEN teacher and pedagogue from an accredited institution in Estonia were invited to make jobshadowing in the field of sensory integration, share practice examples, give a family education seminar. In each mobility, informative meetings were held with occupational therapists, physiotherapists, child psychiatrists. Resource books were purchased, project corner was created in the school library. Project contents were updated, displayed on the school project board as activities were carried out. A workshop was held for dissemination, experts, teachers, families and students were brought together through workshops. Participanting schools were given tactile material set. A guide book has been prepared.
