โ–ถObjectives

The project aimed to reinforce the capacity of associations and individuals working to conserve and increase seed diversity (e.g. small-scale farmers and seed savers) to understand and monitor the public policies that impact the conservation and use of seeds, and advocate for an enabling legislative environment both at European and national levels. Enhancing the awareness and understanding of policy issues within the seed diversity movement in Europe, the project wished to set the foundations for a coordinated debate between seed diversity actors, public institutions, and the public. To strengthen the knowledge base of the target groups on European institutions, policy-making processes, and technical aspects of European seed policy, we wanted to develop different opportunities, resources and long-lasting tools to navigate and better understand European laws and policies related to seeds. We also aimed to bring the Brussels policy-making "bubble" closer to seed diversity actors, showing them means to engage in the process as active citizens.
