The primary objective of the GlacierXperience project is to raise awareness and understanding of climate change, using glaciers as a powerful and visible example of environmental transformation. By creating a digital learning environment, the project aims to make glaciers accessible to students and the general public, even those in non-glacial regions. The project seeks to educate learners on the scientific, geographical, and environmental aspects of glaciers, fostering a deeper comprehension of how human actions contribute to their retreat. Furthermore, GlacierXperience promotes scientific curiosity and excellence in STEM education by engaging students in hands-on activities, virtual explorations, and real-world experiments. By connecting students from glacier-adjacent regions (Austria and Norway) with those from glacier-distant areas (Germany), the project aims to foster a sense of European collaboration and shared responsibility for environmental sustainability. Additionally, the project enhances digital readiness in education, using modern tools like 360° video and virtual reality (VR), thus addressing both environmental and educational objectives.
