▶Objectives
Our primary goal was to introduce young people and adults to modern news production processes while encouraging them to consume news consciously. It is crucial to understand and recognize the various artificial intelligence-based processes used to generate fake news, and to develop the ability to filter out such content. The ever-increasing volume of news on modern social media platforms is distributed without prior verification, with no accountability for its accuracy or the relevance of the information presented. This highlights the necessity of training news consumers. While a centralized ban or other state-imposed restrictions on the communications market can distort the market, acting against both democratic principles and free-market values, member states are responsible for shaping and developing their own education policies. In our view, this growing problem cannot be solved through centralized regulation. However, the training we provide—freely accessible to citizens—offers an opportunity to foster conscious news consumption, to follow self-imposed guidelines in the online space, to develop a sense of self-regulation, and to recognize and avoid fake news, thereby reducing its impact.
