Objectives

- that our students by doing a foreign experience will get an improvement of their professional development, an increase in their personal and cultural development - our students will be better prepared for the labor market that is getting more international every day. - Increasing students' motivation, personal motivation by experiencing the training outside the “safe” environment of the school - social skills (like independence,self-reliance) from our students will be stimulated - the teachers of the hairdressers' department will also obtain more practical experience, better techniques, better competences - that our students could get in contact with the basic ideas of European citizenship. (they are the citizens of tomorrow) - our students will be better trained so that we will also achieve a quality improvement of our school - by the Erasmus-funding we could provide an inclusion of all students (of the hairdressers' departments). In this way poverty was tackled. - hoping that the participants would make future students more enthusiastic so that we can avoid a drop-out of students - to pick up ideas which the school could integrate and apply in its own way of working.

Activities

- staff of both schools exchanged information via preliminary online meetings to prepare the visits (= the seminars) - Setting up 2 seminars where each partner school served as a host and a lot of activities were organized - Pupils also prepared each meeting by making video's about their school (and in particular their department) to welcome the foreign students. - During these seminars, students were taught different techniques of hairdressing - in their free time (during the seminars) a lot of cultural activities were organized - Elaboration of material - Setting up a digital learning platform. A website was created where not only techniques were explained, but also training, preparation, evaluation and other things were mentioned. - Evaluation of the seminars by means of Google Forms. All participants had to fill in a survey that was monitored by the European project teams of both schools. - Students posted videos on social media to give their opinion about their experience of the seminars. They were given a course about vlogging.. - Communication and promotion of the project. Not only by social media but also on the school websites, during open school days, in leaflets.

Impact

Concrete outputs: * Different results appeared, all presented on the developed digital platform (website). To attend courses abroad for a few days was for all our students something completely new. To improve integration, some communication techniques for our students were introduced and put on the website. In this way our students could easily break the ice with the new foreign teachers and students, something that they surely will need in their future job with new clients. * End products of elaborated activities. Different hairdressers' training techniques (e.g. multi color, cut and styling) were taught and can also be found on the website. *, Also reactions, images, videos can be found on the website. Our students were given a course about vlogging so that they were better prepared to post their messages on social media. On the website reactions posted by the pupils can be found. Other results: we noticed that after the seminars abroad the social skills of our students had improved, they were more confident, independent, self-reliant than before. By getting into contact with foreign students/teachers we felt that our students could better deal with diversity. They were also more motivated to lifelong learning.
