▶Objectives
The E-MotiOn project aimed to promote emotional education by supporting teachers and students in developing essential emotional competencies: resilience, fear and stress management and risk-taking. The project strived to create an inclusive, creative learning environment through innovative, multidisciplinary activities that integrate linguistic, artistic, and musical creativity. A key objective was to equip teachers with practical tools and non-formal educational methods to enhance their classroom practices and better address students' emotional needs. The project also aimed to raise awareness about the significance of emotional education, mental health, and well-being among students aged 10-12, both in school and out-of-school settings. By implementing E-MotiOn, the partnership intended to foster social inclusion, improve students' emotional skills and create a supportive educational environment where both students and teachers could thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. The ultimate goal was to ensure students’ holistic development and long-term well-being through creative and innovative educational practices.
▶Activities
The E-MotiOn project was developed in response to the growing need for emotional education in schools as a result of the negative emotional and social impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. Research revealed increased levels of stress, anxiety, and loneliness among students, alongside concerns from teachers about managing students' emotional well-being. Disadvantaged children faced even greater challenges due to limited resources and support. E-MotiOn project aimed to address these needs by equipping teachers with innovative training materials that use artistic, musical, and linguistic creativity to build students’ emotional competencies such as resilience, fear and stress management, and risk-taking. By fostering a supportive, inclusive, and creative learning environment, the partnership aimed to improve students' social-emotional development, strengthen teacher-student relationships, and promote positive mental health in schools.
▶Impact
The E-MotiOn project achieved several concrete outputs and results aimed at fostering emotional education in schools. The key results included national reports and a common report identifying challenges related to students' emotional competencies, providing valuable insights into emotional well-being needs. A creative activities kit comprising 60 innovative activities was developed focusing on the emotional skills: resilience, fear and stress management and risk-taking. The project also delivered an international training event for teachers and educators, enhancing their capacity to integrate emotional education into school curricula. Pilot activities were successfully implemented in the four partner schools, allowing teachers and students to apply the developed materials in real learning environments. 20 simulation videos were developed from the practical implementation of the piloting activities showing the real-life delivery of the creative activities kit. Additionally, four national events were organized to disseminate project results, raising awareness about emotional education's significance. A digital educational platform was created, ensuring free and easy access to project materials.
