▶Objectives
HOST Project Objectives: 1) To equip Hospitality HR and Management with tailored education and tools to train and support staff with autism, improving their competitiveness, value, and well-being. The project’s VET course addresses ASD-specific needs, guiding HR professionals to deliver effective training while empowering ASD staff to refine their skills. 2) To increase the productivity and job retention of autistic staff in Hospitality. The project’s results, including a board game, serve as motivational and practical tools, encouraging autistic employees to pursue higher roles and fostering team-building while enhancing workspace quality. 3) To reduce the employment gap between disabled and non-disabled staff by creating equal opportunities and eliminating workplace exclusion for people with autism. This initiative promotes inclusivity and showcases Europe’s commitment to diversity in Hospitality. 4) To enhance the role of VET in developing the careers of autistic staff in EU Hospitality by providing practical, hands-on training tailored to their specific learning needs, ensuring realistic and impactful skill development.
▶Activities
1) Project Management and Quality Assurance Activities, for the purposes of ensuring appropriate documentation collection, budget utilisation, timely delivery of Project Results and implementation of all activities, and adhesion to the Quality Standards and indicators described in the PM Plan and QA Plan. Finally the consortium carried out numerous online meetings and 4 x TPMs in Cyprus, Latvia, Austria and the Netherlands. 2) Dissemination Activities, such as development of the project website and creation of the social media page, articles, posts, newsletters and 5 x Multiplier Events in Cyprus, Latvia, Denmark, Austria and the Netherlands. 3) Activities in the context of WP3, for the development of the HOST Board Game, such target group analysis, play tests, development of game mechanics and production of 12 x board games. 4) Activities in the context of WP4, for the development of a VET methodology to support the Delivery of the HOST VET Course. 5) Activities in the context of WP5, for the development of a VET course for HR and managers in hospitality. Furthermore, activities for the development of 5 x Training Modules and the final activity being the ToT in the Netherlands.
▶Impact
1. The HOST Board Game, an interactive tool to build technical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills for neurodivergent teams in hospitality and Rulebook, plus translations in Greek, Latvian, Danish and German 2. A tailored VET methodology and curriculum for hospitality HR and managers, focusing on supporting and developing autistic staff, plus translations in Greek, Latvian, Danish and German. 3. A VET Curriculum and corresponding Training Materials consisting of 5 x Modules, 5 x Presentations and 5 x Trainer Guides with tips and exercies, with translations into partner languages. 4. A Training-of-Trainers (ToT) activity in the Netherlands, testing materials and Board Game with 12 VET educators. 5. Dissemination through a dedicated project website, active social media engagement, and 5 x Multiplier Events across partner countries to engage stakeholders. 6. Implementation of a comprehensive Project Management and Quality Assurance Plan to ensure the timely delivery and sustainability of outputs. 7. 4 x Transnational Partner Meetings in Cyprus, Latvia, Austria and the Netherlands.
