Summary

Our main goal was to transform our existing in-person course into a microlearning (ML) format. We wanted to adapt individual course topics into suitable ML forms, allowing participants to study independently, according to their schedule and individual needs. The course focused on using cloud applications to streamline internal company processes. We had study materials from the in-person course version and extensive experience with the subject matter. However, we lacked sufficient knowledge in creating ML-format courses. The project enabled us to partner with an ML-experienced organization and realize our vision, which we had been discussing within our organization during the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic, among other things, accelerated the massive adoption of online communication and education. We joined the project because it allowed us to work with an experienced foreign partner to create an ML course. This fulfilled our main need - giving learners detailed access to the subject matter without attending time-consuming in-person training. Learners can now choose specific topics, which was impossible in the in-person course where everyone had to complete everything.

Objectives

During project preparation, we set out to develop and launch an ML course enabling users to explore organizational process digitization and effective cloud application use. Our intention was to make the course available online, allowing participants to avoid time-consuming in-person training and study according to their individual needs and schedules. During project implementation, we planned to work with our partner to design suitable ML forms and elements for various topics. We wanted to make this course accessible to all interested parties with minimal need for our involvement. Throughout the project, we developed an appropriate way to deliver content through a web portal with simple navigation, where users could independently browse and select topics based on their preferences. We also aimed to shift the explanation of basic principles and possibilities in digitalizing internal processes from in-person training to the online portal. This would free up space for providing individual expert consultations about specific solutions while ensuring we could offer technical, educational, and informational support when needed.
