▶Objectives
The objectives of this project were : - To develop the skills of local actors in social services, migrant reception and all citizens who wish to welcome and accompany people who have fled their country. - To equip them with concrete intercultural and linguistic methods to facilitate and improve the integration of these people on the move and thus promote their capacity to act.
▶Activities
In this project for intercultural training and interdisciplinary work approaches, we wanted to show the way for a respectful and productive exchange between people of different origins, coming from Germany, France and Turkey. The project consisted of two phases: a first activity brought together all 30 participants and the 8 people in the leadership team in the form of a one-week transnational seminar in Göttingen, Germany, from February 7 to 14, 2023. This first meeting phase made it possible to jointly develop the tools for the reception and social integration of refugees to be used in the next project phase. The aim was also to establish a network between the participants. In a second step, local spin-off phases took place from September 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024, which were carried out in parallel in Germany, France and Turkey. The methods and activities developed by the participants were directly applied locally in the context of language cafés and city tours.
▶Impact
The results we had hoped for when submitting the project have largely materialized: - The intercultural training meeting for the participating individuals has led to beautiful encounters that have been the source of personal and collective enrichment for all participants. - This allowed everyone to question themselves and improve their own practices in the social care of refugees. - Two tools were created (language cafés and city tours), which were tested and applied directly in the participants' fields of practice during the local project phases in Turkey, France and Germany.
