Objectives

The MetaNFT project aimed to achieve several key objectives by implementing the MetaNFT project. The primary goal was to train VET trainees in creating NFTs and using the Metaverse as a platform for showcasing and selling their digital creations. By doing so, the project intended to open new career opportunities and boost entrepreneurship among the students in the world of digital economy. Furthermore, the project aimed to improve the employability of VET students by equipping them with digital marketing and content creation skills, which are becoming increasingly demanding in today’s job market. Another major objective was to support VET providers in updating and integrating these new digital skills into their curricula so as to ensure that the future students would continue to benefit from training in NFTs and the Metaverse. Finally, by the project also aimed to contribute to the EU’s digital transformation agenda by fostering innovation and creativity in the VET sector.

Activities

The MetaNFT project focused on 3 core set of activities. First, the Training Framework (R1) was developed to address the specific needs of VET trainees through a needs analysis and surveys to identify the skill gaps in the target group (R1.A1). Based on the results, a training structure that consisted in 3 Units focused on NFT creation and Metaverse interaction was created (R1.A2 and R1.A2.1). Next, the Development of Training Modules (R2) involved creating online training resources, including YouTube tutorials (https://www.youtube.com/@nftArtonMeta) and online blog posts (https://nftartonmeta.com/category/r2/) to teach trainees about NFTs, blockchain security, and free NFT creation software. Moreover, training guidelines for trainers were developed to help them integrate this content in their teaching practices (R2.A3). Finally, the training framework was also pilot-tested with VET trainees and adjusted afterwards based on the feedback collected (R2.A4). The third activity was an intensive report on Marketing Strategies inside the Metaverse (R3). This report covers three main areas: marketing guidelines that covers NFT marketplaces, Metaverse marketing strategies, and the use of social media for promotion (R3.A4).

Impact

The MetaNFT project produced several key outputs and results. The main deliverable was a training module structured in 3 Units. The training module consists in 23 online SEO-friendly blogposts (https://nftartonmeta.com/category/r2/) complemented by the production of around 4 hours of YouTube tutorials (https://www.youtube.com/@nftArtonMeta) designed to teach VET trainees about NFT creation and the Metaverse. Additionally, 74 pages of guidelines for trainers were created to help educators integrate NFT and Metaverse-related content into their curricula (R3.A3). Another important output was the 102-page guidelines on Marketing Strategies for NFTs in the Metaverse (R3.A4), which focuses on the integration of NFTs into the European and Metaverse markets and addresses the validation of non-formal competences related to NFT activities. Beyond these tangible outputs, the project impacted 106 VET trainees during a 5-day pilot testing in Adana Cukurova Fine Arts High School by providing valuable skills in NFT creation and digital marketing. Finally, the content was adjusted in a way that facilitates VET providers embed digital skills into their training programs, ensuring long-term sustainability and continued benefit for future students
