ERASMUS+PECE / SMARTE PÄDAGOGIK – Implementierung eines Systems zur Unterstützung von Lehrenden, Studierenden, dualen Partnern (ErzieherInnen in der Praxis) zur Stärkung ihrer Beziehungs- und Erziehungskompetenzen am St.-Ursula-Berufskolleg

The goals of the project include improving participants' theoretical and practical knowledge, strengthening their skills in everyday pedagogical work (e.g., in building an approachable attitude or in dealing with challenging situations), increasing their self-efficacy, and promoting the use of evidence-based approaches in education. This is to ensure that children in institutional care are supported by professionals in the development of life-relevant competencies The target groups include teachers, instructors, students, and professionals in Düsseldorf, Germany, as well as partners from the Netherlands. The project includes digital and real training sessions, job shadowing, and participation in information and implementation events. Collaboration with international partners enables exchange and learning across cultural boundaries, as well as sharing of best practices in early childhood education. The project also aims to improve the quality of education at participating institutions and to make involvement and support for parents in Düsseldorf and Hilversum more consistent.

The following activities were part of the project: Information events and presentations for interested parties (digital with information about the PECE program and the ERASMUS+ PECE project and in presence by PK at the educational program directors' conference at SUBK), organizational events (digital, exchange between participants in different constellations), online program PECE for professionals and future coaches, training to become a PECE coach (in the NL, 2 days for all + 1 day practice workshop (digital f. German TN)+ ½ day accreditation workshop on site in DD, or on site in the NL), implementation workshop (half day for German TN of the training in the NL), expert presentations (workshops and exchange: 1x on the first recruitment experiences of the German coaches + 1x on the first coaching experiences of all TN) and mailings with information and material for implementation to all TN. 16 educators from Düsseldorf and NL were trained as PECE coaches. After the accreditation, these professionals will be approachable for further professionals who develop PECE Online within the framework of this project. The Dutch partners will modify their project profile with the findings of the ERASMUS+PECE project and benefit from the mutual exchange. Insights into the Dutch practice were given, contacts were made. The PECE online program will be made available to another 100 professionals (e.g. teammates of the coaches, students of the vocational college) and there will be opportunities for coaching by the PECE coaches on their educational impact on children's development. There will be opportunities to deepen content, discuss and learn how work is done in other settings and institutions (D/NL). The evaluation by means of different questionnaires will provide information on whether security, satisfaction and confidence of the professionals have changed.
