Objectives

The concrete project aims were that - the imaginations, identity and memory of Roma communities as well as their habits, values and traditions find their expression - the literacy of Roma is promoted (reader and listener) - children of Roma find a better access to their mother tongue and that they learn them more easily - the desire for reading and literature is awakened - problem-solving approaches and values from the perspective of Roma communities are conveyed - cognitive, linguistic, and creative writing skills are improved - answers are found to questions about the origin, transmission, and preservation of Roma fairy tales and their significance for the cultural identity of Roma - an academic discourse is promoted regarding the historical development, classification, and standardisation of Romanes - the tradition of storytelling is revived - the majority society is familiarised with Roma fairy tales as an essential part of their culture, but also of European cultural heritage. - prejudices and stereotypes are reduced.
