▶Activities
The project has been based on the creation of the contents of the SPOOC modules and the creation of mini-video games to demonstrate the practical application. The project has reviewed the applications involved in the creation of video games as well as the different profiles involved. The implementation of these modules has been key to making young people understand the importance of having holistic knowledge and the need to work collaboratively. All partners have held workshops to disseminate the units that make up the modules as well as the explanation of how the mini-video games work. Final events have been held in all participating countries to showcase the results. Games4Green is not only focused on the technical development of video games, but also on their potential as a tool for learning and social change, addressing the need for training in the sector, environmental awareness and the promotion of inclusion and gender equality.
▶Impact
The project has generated the creation of 10 modules, 27 mini-video games as examples that can be used as templates, the creation of a learning platform in SPOOC (Self-Paced Open Online Course) format and a complementary PLE (Personal Learning Environment) that will allow students to continue learning once they have acquired the basic knowledge collected in the SPOOC. Learning paths for each profile have been described It has focused on raising awareness about environmental issues through the creation of serious mini-games, using open source tools and learning about game design, programming, graphics and art, narrative, marketing and entrepreneurship. There are a total of 79 units created in the 10 modules that make up the SPOOC course and the training included in the SPOOC is estimated at 400 hours and is expanded in the PLE, which can be configured and customized to continue training in an informal and non-formal way, since it is linked to forums, tutorials, relevant applications within the creation of video games and the main open source or free, basic and most advanced tools have also been selected.
