The overall objective was to improve the mental health training of professionals from health and social sector who work with migrants and refugees in various settings (e.g. psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, physicians, nurses, cultural mediators, interpreters, counselors). The project consortium developed a innovative, comprehensive modular training (in five curricula and five languages) that was made available through an e-learning platform. The training was developed based on the target groups’ views, collected through co-creation activities in the partner countries. In the longer term, EU-MiCare will improve service delivery for migrants and refugees, while contributing to the development of a more effective, integrated multidisciplinary approach in the provision of mental health services to this population in the consortium countries and beyond.

WP1 – Project Management, Coordination of the consortium, regular online and three in-person meetings, progress monitoring, financial and administrative reporting, and quality assurance. Preparation of Interim and Final Reports WP2 – Collection and analysis of needs from professionals and stakeholders, co-creation workshops, development of a conceptual framework & Co-Created Training Scheme, detailing training needs & perspectives of professionals working with migrants/refugees WP3 - Development of the EU-MiCare Methodology & Training Package, drafting, reviewing, translating, and finalising five multilingual training courses, preparation of additional materials, including exercises, case studies, and guidance notes. WP4 - Development of the EU-MiCare e-learning platform & digital learning tools. Development and testing of the e-learning platform, organisation and implementation of the Introductory Webinars, Pilot phase of the e-learning platform, integration of feedback and final improvements. The EU-MiCare project delivered high-quality, comprehensive training materials to strengthen the competences of professionals working with migrants and refugees in the field of mental health. Through its holistic approach, where migration and mental health are examined through a multidimensional lens, the training will ultimately improve mental health service delivery to migrants and refugees. The main outputs from the EU-MiCare project include: 1. EU-MiCare Training: modular training curriculum in five versions (Courses/Curricula) and all project languages. Available as open-access resource and downloadable from the project website. 2. E-learning platform, with free access upon registration, for completing the training in online, asynchronous modality. 3. Training Adaptation Toolkit, enabling VET providers and organisations to reuse or adapt the training content. 4. National and EU Events (EU-Symposium, National Info-Days, Introductory Webinars) 5. Dissemination Material (Website, Social Media Channels, Newsletters and Press Releases, Leaflets) 6. Project Reports (e.g. WP2 Country Reports and Training Opportunities Review, WP3 Training Methodological Framework, Final Dissemination Report, Final Evaluation Report)
