▶Objectives
We wanted students to experience mathematical skills to associate with their daily life. Furthermore they learned working 2-or 3D program (Sketch up) in international teams. In addition, students improved their soft skills when talking about mathematics, agreeing on common models, and expanding their technical skills. Teachers will benefit from the exchange becoming more proficient in using modern teaching methods and techniques.
▶Activities
We realised the teachers exchange in Finland with training on the Sketchup program and finalised the schedule of the whole project. In the first step the students met in two 3-day video conferences. During both meetings students created the corporate identity (logo) in Canva, gathered basic knowledge of kites and learned with the 3D program. In the second step students got to know each other in real life, first in Turkey, then in Germany, where we built real kites and made a challenge, which kite flew best. The project was evaluated by the group in charge, at the beginning of each meeting we asked the participants about the expectations. We finished each meeting asking students or teachers whether the results met their expectations.
▶Impact
The exchange groups developed a kite-e-book with their own designed kites, builds real kites and tried to fly them. The best one „The office-kite“ was presented to public in a leafled. The teachers integrated the geometry of kites in their lessons. All activities were published on a webside from our Finnish partner.
