Objectives

The project sought to establish a paradigm shift in agricultural upskilling by integrating three core objectives: developing technical fluency in advanced drone systems, increasing career prospects for professionals, and improving sustainability and productivity in farming through technology-driven solutions. We aimed to transform passive technology adoption into active innovation and cultivate strategic decision-making skills for optimizing resource allocation. This comprehensive approach addressed both immediate skill shortages and long-term sectoral resilience against sustainability concerns.

Activities

The project's implementation followed a structured approach beginning with WP2's development of next-generation career guidance tools. Following kick off meeting, we systematically mapped emerging drone specialist roles through sectoral analysis, synthesizing these insights into multilingual digital resources (e-guide) that demystify technology adoption pathways for agri-professionals. The project progressed to WP3's competency architecture, where we codified operational benchmarks for UAV deployment in agriculture enabling professionals to gauge their readiness for digital transformation roles through adaptive diagnostic tools. WP4 established an immersive learning ecosystem through collaborative curriculum design, subsequently operationalized via a training platform hosting modular courses. Final validation occurred through transnational pilot cohorts stress-testing the educational material. Throughout this technical execution, WP5's strategic outreach maintained stakeholder engagement through dissemination and communication activities ensuring ongoing knowledge transfer beyond project timelines.

Impact

The project delivered three transformative outputs addressing distinct aspects of agricultural digitalization. The interactive e-Guide provides comprehensive mapping of emerging professional roles with detailed skills and competencies information. The Competence Framework outlines the integration of competencies from various frameworks into the AgroPro Competencies Framework. It acknowledges the diversity of existing frameworks across Europe, focusing on five relevant systems. The framework will primarily draw from the e-CF and DigComp frameworks, aiming to align with DigComp2 for sustainability. It is tailored to specific stakeholders, facilitating pilot programs and long-term impact. The AgroPro Course is divided into learning modules, which are designed to fully cover the whole spectrum of knowledge and competence on Drones in agricultural operations and management. The course aims to provide agricultural professionals with a flexible self‐directed approach to learning and its content will tailored to their needs and interests while also considering their educational background, digital literacy, skills and knowledge on the topic (modular structure).
