Job4Dis. Nuevo modelo de orientación laboral a personas con discapacidad en Europa
▶Summary
From our organisation, Formación Inclusiva S. L., we have always been linked to the attention of people with disabilities from different fields. The social and labour insertion of people with disabilities is one of the most important aspects to promote their social inclusion, autonomy, independence and improvement of their quality of life. In the job search process, the people responsible for employment guidance intervene directly. The figure of the labour counsellor is especially important in the personalised insertion itineraries designed to achieve the labour insertion of people with disabilities, and through this project we seek to have the possibility to know and share how this process is in other European countries, and to create from this information an employment guidance model that can be used/consulted by guidance professionals who assist people with disabilities, so that the process is similar in all member countries, thus promoting equal opportunities without unfavourable situations depending on the territory in which people with disabilities are assisted.
▶Objectives
Mainly, to know how career guidance for people with disabilities works in other European countries, what is their methodology, the profile of the professionals who work there, the characteristics and situation of the group of people with disabilities, to learn and share good practices. In addition to having the opportunity to create a useful and practical tool, where guidance professionals can learn the specific characteristics that must be taken into account when dealing with people with disabilities in career guidance services. Sharing this project with other countries enriches the vision from which we want to develop the new model of career guidance taking into account the idiosyncrasies of each country, thus allowing reflection, promoting tolerance and mutual respect, creating a more egalitarian and supportive society. And another important aspect will be that during the execution of this project, the staff participating on behalf of each entity will have the opportunity to share very enriching moments in terms of knowledge of other countries and cultures, gastronomy, languages and professionals from different fields.
▶Activities
As envisaged in the initial project, the activities carried out have been: transnational meetings in Romania and Greece, the transnational career guidance comparative and the Job4dis manual. The first activity has been to create and apply an evaluation tool about the quality of the career guidance processes that are being developed in the different partner countries of this project. A survey where all the aspects involved in a guidance process are taken into account and a table where the data obtained are compared. The second activity is the Job4dis manual, where we shape the new model of career guidance for people with disabilities after analyzing and sharing which are the aspects that we consider most appropriate for the development of the profession. The other two activities included in the project are two transnational meetings. The first one was held in April in Vaslui (Romania) and the second one in September in Veroia (Greece). With the aim of coordinating the actions foreseen in the project, the contact between partners and the opportunity to share experiences and learn about the characteristics of the participating countries.
▶Impact
The results obtained from this project are: 1. The comparative table of the data obtained from the survey of employment counselors of each country. Analysis of differences and similarities of these results. Description of needs for the adequate performance of the occupation of career counselor and content proposals for the preparation of the manual. 2. The Job4dis manual is the most important result of our project, since it is the tool that we have made available to career counselors in Europe so that they know the most appropriate way to assist people with disabilities in search of employment through the new model of career guidance for people with disabilities, providing the necessary resources to improve access to employment, employability of people in this group, equal opportunities and inclusion. And finally, although they are not measurable and/or tangible results, the experiences shared with the rest of the partners, the collaborative work, the knowledge of the situation of people with disabilities in other countries, etc... has meant a learning and socio-professional development of the three participating organizations.
