▶Objectives
Main Objective: Create a network of educational centers and associations that fosters and promotes the importance of agricultural ecosystem quality and its preservation by working collaboratively within their own reality. Strategic Priority: Seek allies, such as environmental education or interpretation centers, to establish collaborations within the framework of nature conservation. Specific Objectives: - Promote awareness of the biodiversity associated to agricultural ecosystems, environmental challenges, and the dissemination of conservation and restoration measures. Agricultural environments face threats such as climate change, land-use changes, pollution, overexploitation, and landscape simplification, among others. - Encourage participation from rural areas. - Develop and share free educational tools and resources to support the training of teachers and educators. - Facilitate learning and exchange of experiences between communities from different regions, fostering intergenerational collaboration. - Enhance the skills of educators, trainers, and teachers working in lifelong education for adults and society as a whole.
▶Activities
Face-to-face activities with 20 groups on an ongoing basis, plus 15 additional collaborations These include: - Introduction videos. - Activities focused on understanding the environment: landscapes and steppe birds, respect for wildlife (debunking myths and legends); pollinators, harriers; the threat of harvesters; the goats and organic cheese; wine production; sustainable farming; chestnut groves, olive orchards. Biological pest control with birds of prey (avoiding poison use), respecting bat, swallow, and martin nests, etc. - Hands-on Activities: improvements in schools or their surroundings, such as creating insectivorous bird nests, pollinator hotels, and bird huggers. Installing nest boxes. Informative signs. A STEAM project studying the barn owl-field vole interaction. Visits to organic producers. A visit to a castle undergoing restoration that incorporates biodiversity conservation. Designing educational games for other groups, and more. - Activities to share accomplishments: open days, videos, cultural weeks, replicating activities with other groups and different age ranges. - Alliances - Events: "Biodiversity in Agricultural Environments Day" (organized with Goupil and GREFA), a place for sharing experiences.
▶Impact
Phase 1: Management and Dissemination to select Participants. -Design and launch of a website: content creation, translations. Outreach to teachers. Planning activities. -Project poster with a QR code linking to the website. -Visuals and a set of illustrations featuring steppe fauna. -Educational resources: teaching guides, activity sheets, videos, games, and other materials (see annex for details). -Initial meeting in Spain. Phase 2: Face-to-face activities: 20 Groups on an ongoing basis, plus approx 15 additional collaborations -Block 1 Activities: Understanding the environment—collaboratively creating the "Biodiversity Catalog." -Block 2 Action-oriented activities: Developing the "Sustainable Practices Report." -Block 3 Activities: Sharing outcomes—"Messages on Agricultural Ecosystems." -Games and exhibition areas for urban audiences and the general public. -Two intergroup events (by Goupil and GREFA). Phase 3: Dissemination and Project Sustainability -Participation in conferences and events. -Platforms for sharing results: EPALE, Erasmus Days, and Erasmus+ dissemination events. -Production of final materials: project poster, fauna banner, and roll-up displays. -Final meeting in France. -Building alliances. -Evaluation.
