Tools in ecologic, nature, farm, cultural and gastronomic tourism in rural areas
▶Summary
This project arises from the need to know the current situation of rural tourism, since in recent years this type of tourism has increased notably, being nature tourism one of the most relevant in Europe. This is why this project was designed with the aim of finding out the profile of tourists in countries with a great potential in the rural tourism sector, such as the partner countries involved in this project. Various needs have been addressed, such as determining the type of tourist and type of potential tourism in rural environments where agricultural activities and extensive livestock farming predominate, and also the collection of examples of good practices in this regard. Another of the needs to be addressed was the analysis of the situation of digitalisation in the rural sector, what use is made of these digital tools and to whom they are directed.
▶Objectives
The main objective was to collect examples of good practices in European countries with a great potential in rural tourism, agroforestry activities and other natural values. With this premise, the aim was also to analyse the situation regarding digital tools in this sector for these countries, to exchange previous experiences between the partner countries, to determine the profile of the rural, ethnocultural and ecological tourist and which economic, social and cultural variables define this profile, to identify scenarios that would allow a design of proposals for their possible implementation, and finally to find out the potential for a KA2 with IO. Thanks to these objectives and the activities included in these objectives, it will be possible to identify the current scenarios, as well as the deficiencies, opportunities and challenges of rural tourism and, therefore, the digital tools of this sector in the countries participating in the project.
