▶Objectives
The project aims to improve digital education by adopting innovative blended learning methodologies such as flipped classroom, webquests and gamification. The project was introduced to respond to the urgent need to modernise and digitise education, a need accentuated by the pandemic. Needs were identified such as; the lack of digital skills and tools in teachers and the need to effectively integrate face-to-face and online teaching. We sought to increase student engagement, reduce failure rates and improve learning outcomes by integrating technology. We addressed key priorities such as digital transformation, teacher support and tackling learning disadvantage and early school leaving. We set out to strengthen the digital training of teachers by equipping them with Blended Learning skills and innovative methods to empower students to take ownership of their learning. We developed: a Blended Learning Guidebook, a ToolKit and an Online Learning Platform. A key objective was also to promote transnational collaboration to share good practices and build a European cooperation network.
▶Activities
In our project, we implemented various activities to develop and promote Blended Learning methodologies. Transnational meetings were held in the countries of the project partner centres to coordinate the work between us, monitor progress and ensure quality implementation of the defined packages. In addition, we organised training activities for teachers, focusing on innovative strategies such as flipped classrooms, gamification and the use of digital tools in order to explore their use, their advantages and disadvantages and to see in situ how they were used. Among the main results of the project, we highlight the creation of an online learning platform to share resources, a practical guide for the application of blended learning in the classroom that will support teachers and a set of ICT tools to improve digital teaching that will be commonly used in the development of activities for schools and students. We also organised events in each country to disseminate the results obtained in order to ensure the sustainability of the project and its impact on the entire educational community.
