AHOD360 was created to address critical challenges in shipwright, one of the oldest professions in our continent, with different objectives: - Rejuvenate workforce attracting young learners using new appealing technologies on learning materials. - Increase the number of students in VET boat carpentry addressing digital transformation in education and achieving transfers from related sectors (carpentry, furniture…) by learning the techniques and controlling the lexicon that is used. - Enhance European connections between professionals-students in different maritime areas to spread knowledge and increase common projects and possibilities to move around Europe. - Preserve practical knowledge and know-how of European shipwrights with the use of immersive learning and new technologies (videos 360) and a multilingual terminology database platform. - Provide access to information and knowledge to the learners regardless of their location or their financial resources and overcome the traditional oral transmission of knowledge in this job position.
▶Activities
AHOD360 has implemented a comprehensive range of activities designed to modernize vocational training in traditional wooden boatbuilding while preserving its rich heritage. In those activities is included deep research about the key stakeholders in Europe's shipwright sector to be reflected in an interactive map. It was developed a collaborative portal where shipwrights and learners could be in contact around Europe and share content, projects, designs, ideas and solve doubts. AHOD360 tested this portal and update it according to feedback. Furthermore, AHOD360 has made comprehensive research through different sources to identify 1000 key terms for the shipwright sector. It was created a terminology database platform where it was added the terms in 5 languages (EN,GE,SP,IT and FR) with description, synonyms, images and voice notes to know how to pronounce. Finally, team established contact and conducted multiple visits to 5 representative shipyards in different maritime areas. Partners recorded and developed five immersive 360° virtual tours, featuring real professionals at work and incorporating authentic workshop elements. These virtual environments were subsequently tested, achieving exceptionally high user acceptance rates.
▶Impact
AHOD360 project has produced the following main results: -Shipwright collaborative portal with the possibility of sharing documents, projects, images, designs..., create topics, know about opportunities and events, ask and answer questions and contact with professionals and learners of other places. Also, it is included an interactive map with the most important stakeholders in shipwright sector in Europe - Free access multilingual online platform with a complete database of current and historical 1000 terms used in shipwright divided in 20 thematic areas with descriptions, images, synonyms and voice notes with the pronunciation. Everything in 5 languages English, Spanish, German, Italian and French). Also it is available a document to be used offline with the 1000 terms and their description in the 5 languages -Five 360° panoramic virtual tours of real shipyards from different maritime areas with immersive videos of real professionals explaining materials, tools, processes… and additional multimedia elements—texts, photos, audios, links and quizzes to discover the fascinating world of traditional shipbuilding. Everything translated into English, Spanish, German, Italian and French.
