Objectives

The ETSE-Goals project aimed to promote an innovative and structured integration of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into entrepreneurial education within the Social Economy sector of vocational education and training (VET). Its overall goal was to strengthen the social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Europe by equipping VET educators and students with the knowledge, skills, and tools to align entrepreneurship with sustainability. Its specific objectives were: • To assess and map the current integration of the SDGs in vocational training across Europe, especially in areas linked to the Social Economy. • To develop and implement an innovative training package for VET trainers to facilitate teaching entrepreneurship aligned with the SDGs. • To create a collaborative digital platform fostering networking, knowledge exchange, and co-creation of educational resources among educators, students, and key stakeholders. • To formulate policy recommendations for effective and lasting integration of the SDGs into VET curricula at national and European levels. The project sought to foster responsible entrepreneurs, improve VET quality, and support digital and ecological transitions in education and the economy.

Activities

During the ETSE-Goals project, all planned activities across its five work packages were successfully implemented. WP1 – Management and Coordination: • Six transnational meetings were held (Spain, Bulgaria, France, Greece). • A Steering Committee was established, and tools like Teams and Google Drive were used for coordination. • Internal and external monitoring and evaluation measures were applied. WP2 – Research: • Study to map existing practices • Surveys and interviews with stakeholders to gather input • Public report consolidating findings • Guide to best practices featuring 50 projects. WP3 – Training and Platform: • A modular training package for trainers was designed, based on MOOCs and Service-Learning methodology. • A pilot phase was conducted. • A multilingual digital platform with access to resources was launched, and an international SDG-related contest was organized. WP4 – Recommendations: • A policy guideline was drafted, addressed to educational authorities. WP5 – Dissemination: • A dissemination plan was first designed and then executed, including newsletters, social media, events, and presence on EPALE. • A website centralized resources, and a final conference shared the results.

Impact

Following the implementation of ETSE-Goals, results were delivered that contribute to innovation and sustainability in vocational education and training (VET), especially in the Social Economy. • Report on the integration of the SDGs in VET, identifying good practices, gaps, and challenges in partner countries. • Modular, multilingual training package in MOOC format for trainers, including theory, exercises, and evaluation tools. • Digital platform providing access to materials, good practices, and networking for educators, students, and stakeholders. • Policy document promoting the systematic inclusion of the SDGs in entrepreneurial education. • International contest involving trainers and students in entrepreneurial projects with social impact. • Final conference in Seville (May 2025) to present results and ensure sustainability. • Enhanced training for VET professionals to integrate sustainability. • Strategy and tools to ensure continued use of the training package and platform. The strong commitment of trainers and centers exceeded expectations, consolidating an active network and positioning the project as a European reference for SDGs and VET in the social economy.
