Empowering and inclusive model to create an
▶Summary
Objectives We want to provide a new way to support young people who otherwise would not find their place in society. They may have challenges such as mental health, social inclusion and not be able to cope with studies and working life. We want to be part of creating communities for young people in Europe that empower them. At the same time, we offer more skills to professionals working with young people. An empowering community supports (NEET) young people when they feel a lack of meaning in their lives. Activities We are writing a handbook on "Building an empowering community". For the handbook, we will collect best practices from project actors, conduct a desk study and a survey on the topic, collect case stories from empowered young people and describe the process of community building for young people in challenging life situations. We will design and pilot two trainings: for young peers and for youth work professionals. We will disseminate the material produced by the project as widely as possible. Impact As the project is creating a new approach, the main results will only be achieved after the project, when the approach is adopted by the different actors. The concrete results will be a handbook on Building Empowering Communities, two training modules and a website with a self-reflection test. A new kind of support is available to support young people's mental health. The potential impact is to create empowering communities in Europe for young people in challenging life situations.
