Summary

Digital technologies are our future. The European Commission has made it a priority to optimize connectivity and digitalize Europe. A real step forward in this area is the Declaration of Digital Rights and Principles for the Benefit of All which should guide digital transformation in the EU. At the same time, by supporting the draft declaration on rights and essential principles for digital transformation, we should reflect at all levels on the impact of digital technologies on the climate. According to the latest statistics, digital consumption represented between 8 and 12% of total electricity consumption in France. Three-quarters of consumption goes to devices that equip individuals and professionals, or around 40 TWh. In 2016, 39% of adults aged 18 to 64 declared having followed training for professional purposes during the year. As training professionals, we question the impact of digital technology and its mastery by teachers and CFAs using digital technology. If this impact is negative, how can we, as training organizations, fight against climate change?

Objectives

Our ambition is to meet the challenges posed by digitalization by focusing on identifying the practical skills necessary to reduce the impact of digital techniques on the environment and in particular on energy consumption. The main objective of the project is to support trainers and adult education centers with new knowledge and practical skills focused on energy efficiency in the use of digital techniques by following "The Green Path". The project focuses on energy efficiency and reducing the environmental footprint in the long-term learning process and also aims to: - promote social inclusion, civic engagement and attract and provide lifelong learning opportunities to local communities in Bulgaria and France through the use of digital technologies; - enable and motivate people of different ages to develop and improve their own skills as well as the key skills necessary for sustainable development and to cope with the consequences caused by Covid-19.

Activities

Activity 1 - Study of the level of practical skills focused on energy efficiency of teachers in adult learning centers. Activity 2 - Workshop 1 with target groups to define and select practical skills for teachers. Activity 3 - Development of the guide "The green path in digital educational programs". Activity 4 - Workshop 2 - Piloting with target groups. 3 events in France and Bulgaria, including a rural event, which aim to disseminate, promote and sustainably use the results of the project. We also carried out several horizontal activities: - Activities to disseminate information on the project such as the development of the website dedicated to the project; the development of the plan for dissemination of project results and sustainability; the creation of the project logo; information campaigns on social networks concerning the progress of the project following work shops and national events; production of press releases; various communications to interested parties etc. We also carried out rigorous administrative management and systematic evaluations of our activities and meetings.

Impact

We have built a successful transnational partnership between the 3 organizations through the creation of a joint project team. We created a project schedule which was constantly followed. Communication between partners was regular. We carried out evaluations of each project activity and each meeting between the partners. The administrative skills of our organizations have improved. Promoting the Erasmus+ program was part of every activity with interested parties and in each of our communications. We carried out all the planned activities while also encouraging participants with fewer possibilities. For the needs of the activities we have implemented: - a study methodology, questionnaires and national reports for the synthesis of results - 2 work shops for sharing good practices, developing skills in energy efficiency and management - development of the “Le chemine vert” Guide with a created methodology, 2 internal and external evaluation questionnaires, validation and translation. - 3 national events to disseminate, promote and sustainably use the results of the project, etc.
