โถObjectives
This project constitutes the first stage of a programme incorporating many objectives, and aimed at making the civic sector a lever for developing participation, democratic engagement, and active citizenship among Europeans: - Provide European CSOs with the means and resources to nourish their operational, strategic and forward-looking thinking - Strengthen the understanding of specific characteristics and needs of CSOs within their public and private partnership ecosystem, with the aim of fostering their capacity-building development and providing them with optimal support - Highlight the specificities of European CSOs, their similarities and differences, what they produce and the values they collectively uphold across Europe The aim of this project was to identify, for the first time, the knowledge and recognition needs of CSOs at the European level. We also sought to enquire how academic knowledge could be of use to CSOs: how could research be seen as a lever for the development of CSOs? We also attempted to identify existing research on CSOs and render it accessible to European CSOs and researchers.
