▶Objectives
We wanted to be able to highlight the fact that the position of the social mediator, according to the European definition of 2000, must always be the same because this is how the social mediator can work professionally with different audiences and contexts and that going outside this framework puts the professional in difficulty but also does not allow to act in complementarity with other professionals to allow the autonomy and empowerment of the people in mediation. For this, we wanted filmed testimonies of social mediators in different contexts (city mediation, citizenship, migrants, interculturality, school mediation) implemented in different European countries. The objective being to have educational material that can be used in training but also in less formal learning sequences such as team exchange times (briefing, debriefing or practice analysis).
▶Activities
1- Establishment of a methodology that also allowed us to agree on what we all understood as part of the professional posture of the mediator. 2- Construction of a grid of questions to ask the mediators interviewed allowing us, through their testimonies, to highlight the essential elements of their professional posture. We also established in this activity a graphic charter allowing a common framework for filming. 3- Each partner filmed a mediator describing a case according to what we had defined in terms of context. 4- Validation of each of the videos then dressing and subtitling of each of the videos in French, English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. 5- Construction of grids allowing the analysis of the videos in a training context. 6- Construction of a glossary containing the terms used during the filmed interviews 7- Construction of evaluation questionnaires allowing improvement 8- Experimentation in training in different countries 9- Construction by each country of a context document 7- Decision to make a promotional video allowing the dissemination as well as instructions for use of the 'educational kit'
▶Impact
An educational kit including: - A promotional video of the project broadcast on social networks and communication channels available by each of the partner organizations (youtube, web pages, seminars, conferences in particular). - A user guide explaining each of the documents and containing the youtube links of each of the 25 videos (5 mediation cases, subtitled in 5 languages each) - 25 videos filmed in a similar way in order to allow educational use and provide harmony. - 5 documents explaining the contexts of social mediation in the different and providing details on each of the mediation cases. - A glossary constructed by two academics and validated by all partners. - 2 video analysis grids adapted to different learners (beginner or experienced mediators) with possible response elements to guide group facilitators who are not trainers. - An evaluation questionnaire for participants
